After school programs

After-School Programs Schedule

  • No make-up classes or refunds for absences due to illness, travel, conflicting events, etc.
  • Class dismissal: All classes will be dismissed through the Commons doors. We request parents to wait outside the Commons' doors while the chaperone checks out the students.
WHAT IS AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT?

PTSA volunteers organize afterschool enrichment classes as a service to the parents and students at Rosa Parks Elementary. PTSA partners with local vendors and Rosa Parks teachers to offer before and after school programs. We do this as a service to the school community. For our local vendor programs, 100% of registration fees are paid to those vendors.

Here's how it works: Register your child for a class. All classes are held right at Rosa Parks.  After school is dismissed, your student need only walk over to the space (commons, gym, or Art Room) where their enrichment class is offered. The class will be run by a professional instructor in their field. In addition, there will be a parent volunteer chaperoning the class to make sure your student is safe and happy until you pick them up. If your child does not show up to a class for which they are registered, we will contact you immediately.

CLASS CHAPERONES

All clubs must have an adult family member as a chaperon who will be on-site throughout the entire session, signing students in (and contacting the office/family if a child is absent), and signing the students out.

Chaperones must be Rosa Parks PTSA members, also be approved volunteers, and abide by all vaccination requirements from Lake Washington School District (LWSD). You can read more on how to register on the Volunteering in LWSD page on the LWSD website.

Sign up to chaperone a class and get free tuition. Contact us at programs@rosaparksptsa.org if you would like to chaperone all the dates in the session, and we'll refund the program fees!

If there is no available volunteer for a session, that session will need to be canceled.

FINANCIAL AID

We don't want anyone missing out on afterschool classes. Rosa Parks PTSA offers scholarships to help with these expenses. Please, contact the school counselor, Euki Hirano, for more information at ehirano@lwsd.org.
