The Scholastic Book Fair starts March 14th!

Dear families,

Everything is ready for our Scholastic Book Fair which starts tomorrow March 14th! If you have signed up for a time slot, please make sure to check the time and day you will be coming. This is also a great time to set up your e-Wallet account, a cashless and safe digital payment that will allow you to save time at checkout. No slots available or not the one you want? No worries, you can come to the Book Fair on Friday March 18th from 3:45-5:45pm. No sign up needed. We will be outside! Weather permitting, we will be outside the ArtRoom. In case of rain, we will set up in the covered area.

Reading Night is March 17th!

Please join us on TEAMS Thursday, March 17th from 6-7 for Family Reading Night. We will have a special guest author/illustrator, Corinna Luyken, joining us. She will read one of her books, take us on a tour of her studio, and maybe even give us a sneak peak at the cover art for a picture book coming out this fall!

Virtual Toymaker Workship Family Night


Our very popular Toymaker event is back with Rick Hartman from School of Toys! This year's Toymaker event will be a virtual all-school event on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30pm. This build-a-toy workshop will explore the art, science, and JOY of building toys together with Rick and your family! A recording will be available for up to 30 days after the event for those that cannot attend the live virtual event.

The toy kits that go along with this event must be ordered ahead of time. Parents, please sign up each of your Rosa Parks students under their teacher's name in order to receive a toy kit for this event. Use your STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME when signing up. No extra kits will be available for those that do not sign up. Kits are only available for Rosa Parks students. Deadline to sign up: Tuesday, April 12.

Spelling Bee Awards


Mrs. Doering and Ms. Nakatsu presented on March 9th the Spelling Bee awards. Congrats to all Oral Round Award Recipients!!!

Special thanks to Lakshmi Venkatachalam and Ms. Nakatsu for organizing such a successful Spelling Bee.
